Follow these simple steps to securely apply iron-on patches and ensure they stay in place. High-quality patches, such as those found in the embroidered patches collection, work best when applied correctly.
Start by choosing the item you want to attach the patch to. The fabric should be sturdy enough to handle heat and weight. Materials like denim and cotton are ideal choices for iron-on patches.
- Lay the garment flat on a heat-resistant surface.
- Set your iron to the highest temperature the fabric can safely handle and turn off the steam function.
- Preheat the area where the patch will be placed.
- Position the patch on the desired spot and cover it with a thin cloth.
- Press the hot iron firmly on top for about 25 seconds on each side.
- Remove the iron and allow the patch to cool completely.
- Gently rub the edges to check adhesion. If any part lifts, repeat the process.
For maximum durability, you can reinforce the patch by stitching around the edges with a sewing machine or needle and thread.
The adhesive will fully set within 48 hours. Avoid washing the item during this time.
Care tip: Do not wash the garment too frequently. If cleaning is necessary, hand wash in cold water and allow it to air dry to preserve the patch.
