How to iron embroidered patches?
Share
Use the following instructions to properly attach patches using iron-on backing:
Choose the item you want to attach the patch to. Remember, the fabric should be at least as heavy as the patch. Denim and cotton are great choices for iron-on patches.
- Place your item on a flat surface that can withstand heat.
- Heat up your iron to the highest setting that your fabric can handle. Make sure to turn off the steam option.
- Iron the area where you want to place the patch.
- Cover the patch with a thin piece of clothing.
- Position the hot iron over the garment covering the patch and press down firmly for about 25 seconds on each side.
- Remove the iron and let the patch cool down.
- Check if the patch is securely fixed by gently rubbing the edge with your finger. If it lifts up a bit, repeat the process.
To ensure utmost security for the patch, employ either a sewing machine or a needle and thread to firmly attach it to the fabric
The patch will fully adhere in 48 hours.
Note: Avoid washing the item excessively as it may cause the patch to come off. If you need to wash it, hand wash with cold water and let it air dry.
